Who is a teacher? What does a teacher do? In discussing these questions, going beyond the aims of education, the book examines the wide canvass of teacher-pupil relations.
• In a diverse society education is not for chiseling the pupil to fit into a social role but to assist him to acquire knowledge and to use it.
• Active participation of pupils in the class is a proactive behaviour generated by the climate of participation the teacher creates.
• What others consider as failure, creative people consider as feedback. Creativity amongst pupils is built on this premise.
• How the pupil behaves when teacher does not find the answer to her questions is more important than the questions she asks.
